I purchased this reducer for use with a Stellacam II video camera on my Celestron N8i SCT telescope. The telescope's native F10 focal ratio is much too long for use with this camera, and although I was achieving what seemed like good results with the f6.3 reducer I already owned, everything I had read indicated that a faster focal ratio would "blow my socks off". Well, my socks are still on, although yes, it does offer the ability to go deeper than the f6.3 reducer. The problem I ran into is that there is not enough focuser travel to bring the camera into focus with the 3.3 reducer in the optical train. It's close....if I mount the camera a bit shallow in the diagonal I can get to focus, but that is a bit of a kludge. Once in focus images looked good, but like I said, my socks were firmly in place. Please note that this review is based only two nights out with the device, and the camera is new to me, so there may very well be dimmer DSOs out there that will be visible ONLY with this reducer, but the Messier objects I have viewed so far did not necessarily NEED the additional reduction in f ratio to be seen in great detail. So take this review from a relative newbie with a grain of salt. Thanks for reading!
